So i got up early for the dawn service at the shrine. This was the first time I’d been, though i had tried to go last year. It was quite moving, even if i couldn’t get close enough to actually see what was going on.

I snapped this one as I was leaving, the guy was getting back onto his bike and I was holding a camera. What more can i say? Got lucky I guess.

Been a while since i posted some pics up here! I’ve been busy on other projects. That’s not to say i haven’t been taking photos! I’ve been having fun shooting some bands and im hoping to shoot some more in the next couple of months.

This shot was taken for Ouch My Face at The Tote. I took some other shots of them at Noise Bar for Summer Noise (I’ll try post up some photos of that soon too) and they asked me to come along and take some more at The Tote. I was flattered and battled through Melbourne’s heat wave to get some good shots. It was 40 degrees (c) outside! I had a flick through my manual before heading out and checked the operating temperature, it was 40. I figured it would be hotter inside, but those numbers are probably on the safer side of things.

So the camera worked, but i made the mistake of not scouting the venue first… i was still waiting on my 430ex (i now have it and it’s great!) and was relying on bouncing my flash off the roof. Wll the roof was black and the flash i had has 1 setting and it’s blinding! So convinced a confused group of the finer sex to give me a hair tie and used my cleaning cloth as a diffuser! I ended up getting some interesting shots and the lighting was kinda cool once i got used to it.

Another creative title, impressive i know.

This shot was taken during my awesome holiday at Kangaroo Island. It was a great day and i was lucky enough to have my camera with me (i had forgotten it when i ran into some dolphins…). I wandered out into the water and took a few snaps from different angles, then waiting for the boat to drift in the right direction and captured this one. I’m pretty proud of it.

Well, i’m not sure how i should treat portrait images yet… so i’ve cropped this shot down. I think it lost something when i cropped it but it still has something in it.

So I went down to my local and took some shots of ‘Stabbi Stabbi Kill Kill’. I took a fair few shots sitting up the front on the floor. The flash i have (scavenged form a passport camera) was making some pretty harsh shadows alot of the time, which wrecked alot of shots.

This one really stood out for me, it is such a passive shot comparted to all the others.

Anyway, i shot this as i was walking along the Upfield line. I crossed the road as the gates were coming down and saw an empty road before me. Just snaped it and didn’t think much more of it, but it ended up being one of my favorites from the day. I never can tell.

I took this photo for the Canon “photo 5″ competition. You basically got sent out 5 object that you had to have in the potos you took for the competition. This one was using a ribon in the hair. I shot this one at Shorem while i was down there for the weekend.

Unfortunately i got held up at work (past midnight) and missed the deadline for submissions… a bummer but it was still fun taking the photos.

A quick snap of Geo doing some nice work at ‘Sketch City’. I’d write some more but i don’t know what to say, i mainly feel bad for not posting anything up…

Promo shot of ‘Don’t Ban The Can’, an event protesting the new anti-graffiti laws. The event will be held later this month on the 20th with live painting and other delights.

It had just been raining and the sun had come back. Since i have an obsession with light i thought i could get some good shots of puddels reflecting the sun or some such thing. Turns out there was a much cooler rainbow!
